Description

The Covington Variable Speed Grinder/Polisher is a customizable two-station unit that you set up with the wheels you need. A 1/2 hp high-torque motor with speed control lets you change the speed from 800 to 1725 rpm, so you can run faster for grinding and slow right down for polishing without losing power. The 1" x 18" shaft accepts 6" and 8" wheels, 8" expandable drums and 8" aluminum heads (left- and right-hand 1"-14 threads). Heavy-duty ball bearings are neoprene sealed and greased for life. The powder-coated cast aluminum arbor, pans and hoods come with water valves and drain plugs, and the hoods lift off easily for cleaning or wheel changes. The water valves take 1/4" OD plastic tubing for gravity flow or 1/4" copper tubing for pressure systems, and spray nozzles under each hood wet the whole wheel face. The unit ships mounted on an aluminum-topped Lam-I-Cushion base. Shipping weight: 78 lbs. A 220V / 50Hz international model is available.
