Covington 8" Diamond Grinder & Polisher (754DGP)

Description

The Covington 8" Grinder & Polisher is an excellent machine for grinding and polishing stones. With two hard wheels and one expandable drum, it quickly shapes and polishes work pieces. The angled slots through the rubber rim of the drum let it expand when rotated, locking the belt in place, and the drum surface flexes to the contours of the gemstone, quickly removing grinding flats and scratches. It is built around a 1/2 hp heavy-duty motor with heavy-duty ball bearings (neoprene sealed, greased for life), powder-coated aluminum castings, hood and belt guard, and an adjustable cab and wheel rest. The hoods are easy to remove for cleaning or wheel changes. Water valves take 1/4" OD plastic tubing for gravity flow or 1/4" copper tubing for pressure systems, and spray nozzles under the hood wet the entire wheel face. The unit ships mounted on a rustproof aluminum-topped Lam-I-Cushion base with a 36" x 24" footprint. Shipping weight: about 200 lbs, sent by freight. A 220V / 50Hz international model is available.
